My huge Rhodie bush has bloom clusters that go from pink when they first appear, to white as they develop and fill out, retaining the warm and striking pinks in the centers of the individual blooms. Making the white tones into shades of blue make the centers sparkle with heat to draw our eyes to appreciate the beauty within. When the blooming runs its course the big white petals drop leaving a snow-like ground cover just after winter is over.

For the past few years I've been painting flowers up so close that they envelop the viewer in their sensuality and rich color. Enlarged, they become almost abstractions from nature without seeing the outer shape or the environment around them. This is a full sheet flower painting.
