Drift away into the dreamy 'color field landscapes' of artist Ash Oaksmith.
Oaksmith is a self-taught fourth generation artist now living in the Pacific Northwest. She has been painting for twenty years.
Her paintings are inspired by the beauty of the Olympic Mountains, Greater Puget Sound Area, and all her travels from childhood to the present day.
Wind plays an essential role in each of her paintings, and it is the interaction of wind in sweeping landscapes that she thinks about during those first brush strokes. As the daughter of a pilot and now a sailor herself, she has a deep respect for the power of wind—and its gentleness.
Oaksmith pays respect to The Suquamish Tribe, the people of the clear salt water, the original custodians of the land she resides and creates upon.
